The Skin Illustrator 1853 Palette, formerly known as the 12 Years a Slave Palette, was created for the makeup artists on the oscar-winning film "12 years a slave". This palette was designed  as a single palette combining some of the most useful colours for creating effects on darker skin tones. It includes "Violet" which is a custom colour. Colours can be applied with a brush or sponge and the colours can be used alone or mixed. (Note: You can only use either 99% Alcohol, Skin Illustrator Activator or Slow Activator to activate the colour pigment!) 

Isopropyl Alcohol is restricted for professional use only but Skin Illustrator Activator or Slow Activator is a suitable alternative. Slow Activator is used in warm conditions to slow down the drying process of the paints
