PhD Safewax is a quick, no-mess waxing system. Its unique, patented application method provides a thin layer of high quality wax which gives less discomfort for the client than other systems. Disposable applicator heads have a single gate mechanism to prevent wax from re-entering the tube, eliminating the dangers of cross contamination.
Originally created back in the 1990s by New Zealand-born beauty therapist Jane Bourke, the PhD Safewax System is a hygienic waxing system favoured by beauty therapists and salons all around the world.
Jane Bourke created the PhD Safewax System after becoming concerned with the rapid spread of bacterial infections such as herpes and HIV. Jane was particularly worried that wax pots could potentially be at risk of storing such infections and transmitting them onto subsequent clients unless a fresh pot and sterilised applicator was used each time. It was then that Jane came up with the idea of an applicator head that could be screwed onto a tube of wax. After each client, the applicator head could be disposed of, which would remove the risk of cross-contamination between clients.
The PhD Safewax System offers salons and beauty therapists a wide choice of options to tailor their waxing treatments. With three different types of wax available, including a Natural Creme Wax, a Tea Tree Creme Wax, and our hugely popular Honey Wax, you can choose which wax would suit your client best.
There are also three different applicator heads available (Original, Mini and Precision), so you can easily do a variety of treatments including leg, underarms, bikini and intimate and even facial hair waxing! The applicators are a particularly great aspect of the PhD system-- they are the original and only applicator with a "gate" mechanism to stop contaminated wax flowing back into the tube. Each applicator is packed in a pre-sealed bag for maximum hygiene!
There is also a wide range of supporting products for PhD Safewax salons, including pre- and post-waxing lotions, waxing strips-- which come in both paper and fabric-- as well as appointment cards, after-care leaflets and towels.
